Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) Level 1 introduces candidates to the principles and application of TOFD, an advanced ultrasonic inspection method widely used for the detection and sizing of defects in welds and other components. TOFD utilises the diffraction of ultrasonic waves from the edges of discontinuities to provide accurate through-wall sizing and high probability of detection.

This training is ideal for candidates starting in advanced ultrasonic methods or those transitioning from conventional UT to TOFD. It complies with PCN GEN 24 requirements and prepares candidates for the Level 1 examination.
